12th Annual Christian County Fair Race Night Set for Wednesday, July 22 in Taylorville
Four Divisions of Dirt Track Racing Highlight One of Central Illinois’ Biggest Midweek Summer Traditions

TAYLORVILLE, Ill. — The engines will roar and the dirt will fly on Wednesday, July 22, as the 12th Annual Christian County Fair Race Night returns to the Christian County Agricultural Fairgrounds in Taylorville, Illinois. One of the region’s most anticipated summer racing traditions, the event will feature four exciting divisions of grassroots dirt track competition, including UMP DIRTcar Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and, for the first time ever, Crown Vics on the popular 1/5-mile bullring.

While the Christian County Agricultural Fair officially begins Tuesday, July 21, and continues through Saturday, July 25, it is the Wednesday night racing program that has become one of the fair’s signature attractions. Since Track Enterprises revived the event in 2014, Race Night has grown into a can’t-miss stop for racers and fans from across Central Illinois, delivering packed grandstands, outstanding car counts, and thrilling side-by-side competition year after year.

Promoted by Track Enterprises of Macon, Illinois, the annual event continues to evolve. The addition of the Modified division in 2024—following years of requests from competitors and fans—elevated the program to another level, and this year’s addition of the Crown Vic division promises to add even more excitement. Last year’s feature winners included Brian Diveley in the Modifieds, Ethan Schnapp in the Sportsman division, and Bobby Beiler in the Street Stocks. The 2025 event also produced one of the largest crowds and strongest competitor turnouts since the race’s return, creating tremendous momentum heading into this year’s edition.

The Modifieds will be racing for $600 to win, while both the Sportsman and Street Stocks will race for $500 to win. The newly added Crown Vic division will compete for a $150 winner’s prize. All divisions will compete under Lincoln Speedway/UMP DIRTcar rules, providing competitors with familiar regulations and ensuring close, competitive racing throughout the evening.
